The internet exploded this month when Jeep® announced all of its concept vehicles for the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah later this month, and here at Sunland Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM we already have devoted blog space to expressing our excitement over the Comanche concept based on the Renegade crossover. Of course, also released at the same time was the Jeep Wrangler Trailcat concept fans of the brand have been praying for since the Dodge Hellcat models were released last year, and boy, are we excited about the potential of an off-road king with such a powerful engine under the hood!

It’s a special Jeep vehicle for the 50th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari, and really the engine is everything that makes it that way. Both the Charger Hellcat and Challenger Hellcat featured a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of generating a whopping 707 horsepower, which was enough to make those the most powerful muscle cars ever created and the most affordable per-horsepower vehicles currently available.

This concept Wrangler features that award-winning engine, as well as sport seats borrowed from a Dodge Viper, 39.5-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires, and axles and shocks fit for a monster truck. We’ve been hearing for quite some time that a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat was coming, and we’re hoping that this is some sort of preview of that.

The Trailcat itself, unfortunately, isn’t going to production, which we know is a massive bummer to fans of Jeep in El Paso, but it’s nice to see FCA sticking that Hellcat engine in some new models to see how well it works. In this case, we’re sure it works incredibly well, and we’re thrilled to see it find its way to Moab this spring.
